Kuala Lumpur: The Ampang Fire and Rescue Department has reported an accident involving two helicopters colliding and crashing in Taman Melawati in Kuala Lumpur. Two of the four on board were reported to have been killed, FMT reported. It is learnt that the aircraft crashed in a housing area behind a Tamil school, and early indications are that there are four victims of the crash - three men and a woman, reported The Star.

Fire and Rescue Department and police personnel as well as rescue personnel are on scene, as well as Gombak MP Datuk Seri Azmin Ali. "It is an unfortunate event. There are casualties but we have yet to ascertain how many," he said. Azmin said he was informed of the incident when attending a programme in Bukit Antarabangsa on Sunday morning. "We hope the relevant authorities such as the Fire and Rescue Department as well as the police can investigate the matter thoroughly. We will wait for more information as the investigation continues," he added.
