Jesselton Point tourist boat operators seek rental relief

Kota Kinabalu: Tourist boat operators at Jesselton Point are urging the boat terminal management to provide a relief of premises rental payment as the spread of Covid-19 in the State had affected their income.

Their spokesperson, Arwin Singkang, said in April and May the company managing Jesselton Point granted them a 70 per cent reduction in the rent, while a 20 per cent discount was given in June.

He said now they were required to pay the full rental amount and other charges such as port dues amounting to RM600 a year.
