Kuala Lumpur: Various parties showed solidarity in helping Sabah to cope with the Covid-19 pandemic through numerous contributions. Among them was Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO), which contributed RM250,000 to selected non-governmental organisations for buying face masks, hand sanitisers and other basic necessities to be distributed to affected residents.

“The contribution is part of MyIPO’s corporate social responsibility and MyIPO had previously contributed similar aids to the Health Ministry (MOH) to buy personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontliners,” according to a statement from the corporation, Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Sunway Medical Centre donated medical supplies worth over RM300,000 to Queen Elizabeth Hospital and other public hospitals in Sabah, to support frontliners in managing the escalating Covid-19 cases in the State.

Lin said the donation to Sabah is a continuation of the medical centre’s initiatives, which previously had accepted selected patients from MOH to ease the burden of public hospitals in dealing with cases other than Covid-19 and contributing RM100,000 to Yayasan Kebajikan Negara’s Prihatin Fund.

Meanwhile, Atomy Malaysia Sdn Bhd channelled donations worth RM141,080 to seven welfare centres and foundations, childcare centres and hearing centres for the hearing impaired who were also affected by the spread of Covid-19.
