BEAUFORT: Lembaga Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) hopes that the State Government will provide a site for them to build a training center.AIM Chairman Datuk Seri Panglima Lajim Ukin said this during the handing over of the AIM Love Basket to all AIM members in the Beaufort Parliament in Kuando which was officiated by Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Isnin Aliasnih on Sunday. “The training centre is very important to enable training for all AIM officers and staff as well as to train AIM members, especially in various fields before they venture into business.

“The State Government does not need to provide allocation to build the Training centre because the AIM Board has its own allocation to build it. “This will further strengthen AIM’s activities, especially for members who want to get a loan from AIM to hold IT training, sewing and many others,” he said. Lajim said members AIM who are still young can learn IT which will allow them to use internet applications for the purpose of marketing their products online.

Meanwhile, he said as many as 1,500 AIM members, especially those affected in the specialised business, have received targeted assistance to alleviate the burden of being affected by Covid 19. “It is hoped that AIM members can repay their loans according to the schedule that has been set so that there will be no problems for Aim later. “I am informed by the AIM Manager for the West Coast Region of Sabah that so far AIM has issued loans totalling RM9.3 million to 3,147 members throughout the State. “The purpose of AIM is to free the B40 group from the poverty,” he said. Lajim hopes that the number of members will increase again next year, especially for women because the goal of AIM is clearly to generate an economy in helping to increase family income.
