Drones an asset in high risk areas

TAWAU: The ability of the Joint Task Force 2 (ATB2) in implementing the Joint “Op Benteng” has been enhanced with the arrival of drone as their latest asset.

Its Commander Brigadier-General Johari Mohd Jaafar, said air intelligence aspects in high risk areas will further improved with the operation of this drone, in line with the instructions of the Commander of the Joint Forces  This is to ensure the safety and trust of the local community on the credibility and role of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) remains firmly preserved.

 He reminded the operations staff to always increase their alertness and operational capabilities from time to time.

Earlier, he said, Op Benteng Bersama had been implemented since May 2020 in line with the Malaysian government’s intention to strengthen the country’s borders.

“ATB 2 is mobilised to areas of interest to curb cross-border crime and smuggling.
