Kota Kinabalu: The Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry is in the process of issuing offer letters to more than 400 applicants of the Sabah New Deal’s tourism development grant.Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Jafry Ariffin (pic) said they only received the allocation from the Finance Ministry after it was approved by the State Legislative Assembly last month. “The application for the RM10 million grant was opened since June and the Ministry had received more than 1,000 applications,” he said in a statement, Tuesday.

“The Ministry is committed to continue any plans that benefit tourism operators who are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Each applicant will receive a RM20,000 grant and it is one of the initiatives by the State Government to improve tourism facilities in Sabah.
