Among reasons for Membakut floods

MEMBAKUT: People in the district are reminded not to throw rubbish everywhere, especially into the river as their action is causing clogging and flooding.

Ahmad Yakub representing Membakut Assemblyman Datuk Arifin Arif said the public needs to work with the District Council to ensure that the town is always clean and does not experience floods.  

Ahmad said to Daily Express during a survey at the general market, here, on Thursday. Vendors in the general market must comply with the rules that have been outlined by the District Council and always maintain the comfort of the public, he said.

“For example, selling goods on the sidewalk outside the general market is causing traffic difficulties for customers who come to the general market and they need to clear the sidewalk for public facilities”, he said.
