RM320,466 aid airlifted to Sabah for flood victims

Kota Kinabalu: The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) and Malaysian Army were deployed Tuesday to ensure RM320,466 worth of essential items donated by the Ministry of Defence reaches flood victims in 13 affected districts in the State. 

The items included mattresses, blankets, children’s sweaters, telekung (white praying-veil used by Muslim women), telekung mats, batik fabrics, towels and hygiene kits, etc. 

The process of transporting the 1,500kg load, which also included 3,173 boxes of humanitarian aid from the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, started as early as 5am.ADVERTISEMENT

The RMAF aircraft operated by Major Tengku Syed Muhammad Amin RMAF and assisted by Capt. Mohamad Ridhwan, as assistant pilot, departed for Kota Kinabalu from the Subang Air Base about 7am.
