Monsoon: Bung wants agencies to prepare early

BELURAN: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin wants all government agencies in the State to make early preparations to face the annual onslaught of the North-East Monsoon that brings heavy rain and results in severe floods.

He said the relevant authorities must do away with the practice of ad hoc action in the matter.

“All government agencies must monitor the situation early. Let’s not wait to act after a disaster strikes,” he told reporters after inspecting the stretch of Jalan Nangoh Paitan-Kanibungan that collapsed due to a landslide on Jan 19, in Paitan, near here.
