Kota Kinabalu: A non-governmental organisation is looking for a woman who allegedly dumped a dog, an action deemed illegal under the Sabah Animal Welfare Enactment 2015, recently. SPCA Kota Kinabalu is seeking help from members of the public to identify the woman who was caught in the act on closed-circuit television (CCTV) at Lorong Dewan, here, last Dec. 1. “We desperately need to get in touch with her as we would like to request her assistance on an SPCA KK case,” the association said on its Facebook page on Jan. 3.

“If you know her, kindly provide us her contact number or, if possible, where we can locate her. Please contact or WhatsApp the information to 019-880 9660.” Shirley Khong, the founder of Fair, contacted Daily Express on the matter, adding that due to the seriousness of the matter, they are seeking co-operation from members of the public to help locate the woman in question.

The video footage had since been widely shared online. According to the Sabah Animal Welfare Enactment 2015, individuals involved in animal cruelty face up to RM100,000 fine or three years’ jail, or both, on conviction.
