Govt urged to install railings at bridge leading to B’fort school

BEAUFORT: The government is urged to install railings on a bridge leading to SK Padas Damit.

Hassan Wahid, a resident here, said it is time for Lumadan assemblyman and Sipitang Member of Parliament to look into the interest of students who use the bridge.

Parents here are worry about the safety of their children.

“Once, a student fell when he was on the way home from school,” he said.

The bridge is also frequented by teachers as well as the public who are heading to Padas Damit Multipurpose Hall.

“Users’ safety would be ensured if the railings are installed on both sides of the bridge.

“Apart from that, the bridge should also be equipped with street lights,” he said.
