Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has tabled a new contract proposal to skipper Sergio Ramos.
Off contract in June, the veteran defender has been waiting for a serious offer from Florentino as his deal ticks down.
Ramos has been seeking a long-term deal, though Florentino has been reluctant given he is 34 years of age.
Josep Pedrerol of El Chiringuito reports the president is offering two options to his captain: Ramos could extend for one year by continuing to receive his current salary or he could initial a new two-year contract, on condition, however, to accept a salary cut of 10 per cent.
Real Madrid's current contract policy is to have their over-30 players on rolling 12 month deals.
