Gaizka Garitano has accepted his dismissal by Athletic Bilbao.
The coach was fired yesterday, despite victory over Elche on the weekend. He is expected to be replaced by former Valencia boss Marcelino.
In reaction, Garitano said this morning: "My heartfelt thanks to all of you who have given me the opportunity to be an Athletic coach: club workers, fans and especially players.
"It has been an honour to lead the team that I love so much since I was little."
Garitano also assured that "from now on, from wherever I am, I will continue to be one more Athletic fan".
