Kota Kinabalu: United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) supports the call of the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections (Bersih 2.0) for a Recall Election Law (REL) to be implemented as an alternative to the Anti-Hop Law (AHL).

Its Secretary-General Nelson Angang (pic) said the coalition’s proposal for REL, to deter party hopping among politicians, should be considered by all relevant stakeholders in Malaysia.

This follows a recent webinar organised by Bersih 2.0, entitled “How to Deter Party Hopping in Malaysia – An Exploration of Remedies”, which discussed the implications of the REL and AHL.
