KUALA LUMPUR: A strong earthquake, measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale, hit Mindanao, in the Philippines, at about noon, Sunday. According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), the quake occurred at 12.22 pm, with its epicentre at 16 kilometre west of Digos City, in the Philippines, and depth of 24 kilometres. However, it posed no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
