Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno could help the club secure Borussia Dortmund star Julian Brandt.
Manager Mikel Arteta wants to add some creativity to the Gunners squad, as they have struggled to break down stubborn defences on many occasions this season.
Reports in European media have linked Arsenal to Brandt, especially as they are unlikely to secure loanee Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid permanently in the summer.
Leno and Brandt are friends, with the latter invited to Leno's wedding.
The Gunners shot-stopper told Sport 1: "I read the rumours with Arsenal and wrote him a few messages right away.
"I don't know what is really there, but I would be happy if he would come.
"Julian is a good friend, we had a very good time in Leverkusen and privately we were often out for beers.
"Maybe we can experience that again in the future. He's also invited to my wedding next year."
