Tottenham caretaker boss Ryan Mason insists the job is coveted.

Ajax coach Erik Ten Hag opted to sign a new deal with the Dutch champions elect on Friday.

Ten Hag was the latest name in Spurs's sights to succeed Jose Mourinho permanently after top choice Julian Nagelsmann opted to join Bayern Munich from RB Leipzig and with Leicester's Brendan Rodgers also proving out of reach.

Mason said: "I've not heard anything. I've shut myself off from it. But listen, this is Tottenham Hotspur football club. There's always going to be people interested.

"We have the best stadium in the world in my opinion. And also the best training complex in the world in my opinion. It's a fantastic group of players and a fantastic fan base.

"So of course it's going to be appealing to anyone. It's a great football club. I'm probably biased because I feel passionately about it. But it's a big football club as well."
