Arsenal have submitted their first offer for Norwich City midfielder Emiliano Buendia.

The Argentina playmaker propelled the Canaries to the Championship title with 15 goals and 16 assists in 39 league matches.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is desperate to add more firepower and goals to his midfield, thus spawning the interest in Buendia.

And The Sun are reporting that the north London club have made a formal bid of £30m-plus to sign the 24-year-old.

But they are not alone.

Aston Villa have matched Arsenal's offer which has left Norwich playing hard-ball with their demand of £40m.

Norwich accept they will lose Buendia - who is keen to leave - but want to recoup as much as possible as they must send 20 per cent of the fee to his former club Getafe.
