Norwich City have sought to take Matthias Normann on-loan from Rostov, it has been revealed.

Eurostavka reports Norwich were willing to pay €2m as a loan fee for the former Brighton midfielder with a permanent option set at €14m - plus a further €2m in bonuses.

However, Rostov have rejected the proposal - for now.

Norwich and the Russian Premier League club remain in contact, with the Canaries hopeful of striking a deal.

Newcastle United have also made enquiries after Normann this summer.
