Burnley boss Sean Dyche is eager to maintain their Premier League status this season.

The Clarets haven't had such a good run in the top tier of English football since their uninterrupted 25-year spell as a First Division side ended in 1971.

It's a purple patch in the club's modern-day history and one Dyche isn't looking to end as he prepares for the start of the 2021/22 season and approaches the ninth anniversary of his time in charge at Turf Moor.

“It's something to be enjoyed but it's also something to build on and be hungry for more. I'm certainly hungry for more," said the Burnley boss, who celebrated his 50th birthday earlier this summer.

“I don't want to just relax and go 'oh well, we had a good spell'.

“It's an amazingly good spell but the point is it's respected, but it's parked very quickly. It's what comes next. That's what I'm interested in."
