Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is happy with his new contract.

The new deal runs to 2024, with the option for another 12 months. However, Solskajer insists it doesn't mean he will be taking anything for granted.

He told VG: "It was something we talked about at the end of last season, that we were going to sit down. They were happy with what we did. We came to agree on something. I'm not difficult to negotiate with when it comes to that kind of thing

"It's a vote of confidence. They are happy with what they see within the walls here, and behind what you do not see."

Solskjaer was also asked about comments from Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher, who stated if "United do not win the league this season, and end up in third or fourth place, that can not be acceptable".

The United manager smiled: "The psychological game of Jamie Carragher began early. I'm not afraid of that.

"Sometimes it is not what you can harvest that is displayed. The trophies are of course important for everyone, but we have seen progress all the way and hope it continues so we are involved and fighting all the way into this year as well."
