Former Inter Milan GM Marco Branca expects more sales to happen after Romelu Lukaku's move to Chelsea.

Branca says he knows what current directors Piero Ausilio and Beppe Marotta are feeling while club owners Suning are struggling financially.

"I think there needs to be a step up from the fans. They have to be prepared for painful sales, because they can happen, and in this situation I see no other way out," Branca told Radio Sportiva.

“Maybe this could be an opportunity for the supporters to cheer Inter on always and regardless of the situation, especially now that there are so many difficulties."

He also stated: “I experienced a complete change of direction too, fundamentally the worst thing to feel in this line of work is to have no choice, and that's what Inter are sensing now.

“On the other hand, we've seen at the Euros that the team spirit for Italy was so essential and I hope Inter can replicate that attitude to keep the team competitive."
