
Villarreal defender Alberto Moreno insists he doesn't hate Manchester United.
Moreno was among the scorers in an epic penalty shoot-out in Gdansk in May when the Spanish side claimed their first major European honour.
The left-back then posted a live video on his Instagram story celebrating in the dressing room during which he said: "For all the fans of Liverpool, vamos (let's go)! Man United, get out! Get out, Man United, get out."
But ahead of tonight's Champions League reunion, Moreno said: "I remembered Liverpool a lot because it is in my heart, just like Sevilla.
"But that expression that went so viral, I don't want it to be interpreted as that I hate United.
"It was the result of the ecstasy of the moment. Because you see yourself in a humble club in a humble city, which had never reached a (European) final.
"And beating Manchester United that way on penalties... I was in a cloud. But it was nothing of contempt, nor hatred.
"What's more, I have friends and team-mates with whom I have been in the national team - with David De Gea, in the under-21s, with Juan Mata in the senior squad. At no time was it malicious."
