Paraguay FA (AFP) president Robert Harrison has blasted Newcastle United for blocking Miguel Almiron's call-up this week.

United have been reported to FIFA for preventing a frustrated Almiron from reporting for international duty.

The AFP are gearing up for a fight over the October internationals, warning they will call Almiron up again.

"We are going to go to the end in the Miguel Almirón case," Harrison said.

"We want a sanction for Newcastle for preventing the player from coming. We do not call him off as the other national teams did. FIFA must act.

"To avoid this scenario, the FIFA Match system was created. What would change for October (month in which the next games will be played) if we do not act?

"(Newcastle's decision) is based on arguments that are not valid to prevent the coming of the player."
