Roma coach Jose Mourinho rejected the chance to sign Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek on deadline day.
LaRoma24.it reports Roma general manager Tiago Pinto was contacted over the possibility of a season-long loan for Van de Beek.
But Mourinho turned down the offer because he did not fit the criteria of what the Portuguese wanted at Roma.
It comes just hours after Van de Beek's agent claimed the club blocked a transfer for the Netherlands international.
Everton also made an attempt for the midfielder yesterday.
