Former Juventus and AC Milan striker Mario Mandzukic has been named assistant coach of Croatia.

Mandzukic kicks off his coaching career as No2 at Zlatko Dalic at the national team.

Mandzukic, who retired after a six-month stint at Milan towards the end of 2020-21, has been appointed as the new assistant of Dalic at Croatia.

The 35-year-old was capped 89 times by the national team, scoring 33 goals in the process. He helped Croatia to the Final of the 2018 World Cup, when they finished runners-up behind France in Russia.

Mandzukic spent five years at Juventus between 2015 and 2020, before moving to Qatar and Al-Duhail.
