Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists he meant no disrespect by snubbing a handshake with Atletico Madrd counterpart Diego Simeone.

Simeone refused to shake Klopp's hand when the two sides met in Madrid over a fortnight ago, a match which Liverpool won 3-2.

The Reds won 2-0 at Anfield on Wednesday and this time it was Klopp who blanked his fellow manager.

Asked about the handshake after the game, Klopp said: "It's absolutely no problem at all.

"I know Diego doesn't like these kind of things and I am not the biggest handshaker on the planet and want to annoy people with my handshaking.

"He doesn't like it and I didn't go over, but that doesn't change my respect for him and the work he is doing."
