
There are times when we just don’t know what to eat or run out of ideas. If you have a bread loaf and your spreads are ready in the fridge, life would be easier.
I’m going to share 2 tasty spreads here today. The 1st one is garlic butter spread and the 2nd one is cream cheese spread.
Recipe No 1 – Garlic Butter Spread

Ingredients
125 grams butter (salted)
6 pips garlic (grated)
1 teaspoon mixed herbs
1 teaspoon chilli flakes
1/8 teaspoon salt
8 slices white bread
Method
1. Take a bowl and add butter to it. The butter should be at room temperature.
2. Then add 6 pips of grated garlic, followed by mixed herbs and chilli flakes.
3. Finally add salt to the mixture and mix well. The mixture is ready.
4. Take a slice of bread and cut it 2 times horizontally, which means you will get 3 parts.
5. Then apply the garlic butter mixture thickly on every part.
6. Get a frying pan, heat it on a medium flame. Place the bread downward on the garlic butter side and toast it for 30 seconds on low flame. Then turn the bread over and continue for another 30 seconds. Continue the above process until you finish the 8 slices.
7. Your bread is ready. Done. Enjoy it while it’s still hot.
Recipe No 2 – Cream Cheese Spread

Ingredients
125 grams cream cheese
1 small onion (finely chopped)
1 small tomato (finely chopped)
2 tablespoon green capsicum (finely cubed)
2 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 teaspoon chilli flakes
1 teaspoon oregano
1/8 teaspoon salt
6 slices bread (white or wholemeal)
1 teaspoon butter
Method
1. Take a bowl and add cream cheese into it. The cream cheese should be at room temperature.
2. Then add finely chopped onion, tomato and capsicum and mix well until it is well combined.
3. Now add mayonnaise, followed by chilli flakes, oregano and lastly salt. Mix again.
4. To assemble the cream cheese sandwich, take 2 slices of bread. Apply the above mixture on 1 slice thickly.
5. Now close the bread with another slice of bread. Apply little butter on both sides of the sandwich and put it on a pan at low flame. Press it firmly before placing it on the pan.
6. After 1 minute, when it is done, turn it over to the other side. You should get a golden colour. Cut your sandwich diagonally when serving. You will get 2 pieces. Continue the above process until you finish the 6 slices.
Final thoughts
1. The above 2 spreads are very easy to make. After making them, if you have any balance left, place them in the refrigerator for future use.
2. If you are having a party, you can cut your bread into smaller pieces or use a cookie cutter. Your garlic bread and cream cheese sandwich will look amazing.
3. For the cream cheese sandwiches, you can cut them diagonally twice, so you will get 4 pieces. You could also use a pan with lines on it. When it is done, you will get golden lines on the bread.
