Former Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font is happy seeing Xavi in charge.
Font went into the election this year insisting Xavi would replace Ronald Koeman if he was to win. Xavi would eventually take charge after Koeman's sacking by president Joan Laporta last month.
Font told AS: "I was very clear that Xavi had to have all the power in the sports area. I am glad that in the end Laporta has listened to reason because until recently he said that he did not see him as a coach.
"I was hoping it would end last summer. But in the end it did not happen.
"Xavi is an independent person and he does not have to ask my permission for anything. We have a friendly relationship with him and his family."
