KINABATANGAN: A pile of rubbish caught fire at a 0.5-acre landfill in Kampung Sungai Rotan, Kota Kinabatangan, here, Wednesday morning.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department’s Operations Centre said the Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) received a distress call regarding the incident at 11.27am.
A five-man team led by Operations Officer, Abdul Fitri Sangkahan and Senior Operations Officer who is also the Kinabatangan BBP Chief, Nurul Azlan Shah Jamalludin, was dispatched to the scene 5km from the station.
The fire was brought under control at 12.02 noon and fully distinguished at 12.10pm.
No injuries were reported.
