TAWAU: A local skipper of a cargo boat was arrested along with a woman passenger for attempting to smuggle out various controlled items to a neighbouring country via the waters of Tanjung Saima, Pulau Sebatik, near here, Sunday
Tawau Maritime Zone Director Maritime Captain Siva Kumar a/l Vengadasalam said the suspects were aged 32 and 35. He said a patrol boat on “Ops Cegah Pati Selatan” duty intercepted the suspicious boat loaded with various controlled items without a valid permit.
