As Chinese New Year approaches, shopping malls all over Malaysia are going all out in stunning, and creative festive decor. Scroll down to see and plan your photo-ops with images of gorgeous CNY decorations at 12 malls in KL and Selangor for the Year of the Tiger 2022.

Pavilion Kuala Lumpur went all-out with a magnificent paper art garden at its Centre Court, Level 2. The sprawling gallery was crafted by Master Chen Xiao, an award-winning artist from China.

For CNY, 1 Utama decided to go with the “Regal Kingdom of Spring” theme, with majestic statues of all 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac decked in gold.
3. The Starling

Uptown Damansara’s eco-lifestyle mall is decorated with Chinese New Year blooms of cherry blossoms, waterlilies, and complete with a bridge over faux water (if only it was real!).
4. KLCC

For 2022, Suria KLCC really went out of this world with their CNY decorations. The enormous red pagoda with green roofing outside the mall has been described as “Qing Ming-like,” by many who said it reminded them of the Chinese tomb-sweeping day to honour the dead. Guess they want to celebrate it early because Qing Ming falls in April this year.

Inside the mall is a collection of cherry blossoms and Chinese-inspired structures of nooks and crannies for photo ops.
5. Sunway Pyramid

Children and the young-at-heart will adore these Disney Tsum Tsum photo spots at Sunway Pyramid’s LG2 Orange Concourse, decorated in honour of the Year of the Tiger, of course.

Kuala Lumpur hotspot Mid Valley Megamall transformed itself into a city of festivities with cherry blossoms, lion dance figureheads, neat structures, and lanterns.

Sunway Velocity Mall in Cheras is decked out in festive Chinese New Year decor with red lanterns overlooking the CNY bazaar filled with food, dresses, and hampers on the ground floor.

Fahrenheit88 in Bukit Bintang welcomes the Year of the Tiger with artistic decor, featuring the ancient Chinese scholarly aspirations of mastery of music, strategy, calligraphy and painting.

Berjaya Times Square allows shoppers to immerse themselves in a bit of ancient China with art pieces, architecture, musical instruments, and furniture akin to those from a Chinese palace.

Chinese New Year decor in MyTOWN will whisk visitors away to a land coloured with the splendours of spring, finished off with adorable creatures like a llama, a tiger (of course!) and a fox placed under pink cherry blossoms.

Fashion-lovers and enthusiasts of all things aesthetically-pleasing will enjoy the splendidly designed decor at Intermark Mall in Kuala Lumpur, filled with a runway of mannequins CNY-inspired outfits and a Chinese opera showcase.

Bukit Jalil’s very own posh Pavilion mall celebrates Chinese New Year with auspicious, interactive decorations. Visitors can gaze upon a traditional Chinese Palace as they walk down the Spanish Steps, take a stroll through the Spring Blossom Tunnel, hop on the Lantern Carousel, or climb aboard the Lunar Train (as seen here) in the mall’s Central Atrium.
