Brighton boss Graham Potter admits their 3-0 defeat to Burnley was an "off day".
Albion stay ninth in the Premier League despite a fourth home defeat of the season and the head coach says he took responsibility for a lacklustre performance.
“It was a disappointing result and performance and when the team is that off it as we were I have to take full responsibility," said Potter. “Burnley thoroughly deserved to win.
“In defence of the team I have to say it hasn't happened very often during our time here.
“But it's a reality check for us that in the Premier League if we are not at our best and the opponent is we're not good enough to win. We have to accept that."
“I don't want to take anything away from Burnley. We were on the back foot from the start and conceded a good goal.
“We then got a bit of a foothold but conceded a second which takes that away from us. The life is sucked out of us at 3-0, but we kept going. We will learn from it but we know we have to do better."
Potter confirmed that Adam Webster missed the game with a slight groin injury but hopes he will be fit to face Aston Villa at the Amex next Saturday, when Lewis Dunk will be available after suspension.
