Kota Kinabalu: Sabah's new Covid-19 cases dipped slightly to 5,359 today from yesterday's record, but the public should expect future daily caseloads to remain high, said Datuk Masidi Manjun.

"Little change, 5,359 new cases (-206)," Sabah's spokesman for the crisis announced on Twitter.

"The percentage of sporadic/community infection in many districts very high, e.g. KK 62.5.%, Penampang 64.1%, Tuaran 56.3%, Putatan 75.5%, Lahad Datu 62.3%, Tawau 73.6% and Sandakan 83% (Sabah: 61.4%).

"Expect cases to remain high."

99.66 percent of the new cases were asymptomatic or light infections, added Masidi.
