Brentford boss Thomas Frank insists the manner of their FA Cup defeat at Everton was undeserved.

The Bees were thrashed 4-1 on Saturday.

Frank said, "It was never a 4-1 match. My normal analysis at a 4-1 match would be that there are no excuses one has lost 1-4, fair and square.

"But this match was never to a 1-4 defeat in my opinion. There were four chances against and they scored four times.

"The disappointing thing is that we conceded two goals on set pieces, and we have to do better. But there was good energy and intensity, but we also need to be better on the ball. It may sound strange, but there were some positive things to take with you."
