KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded 845 additional cases, Sunday, which is 49 more than yesterday, according to the State’s daily update.

This rise is due to the increasing number of new infections in Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Tuaran.

Kota Kinabalu registered 227 new cases and Penampang is back with three-digit additional cases – 105, while Papar recorded 82 new cases.

Tuaran recorded 81 new cases due to a new cluster, involving Hope Village welfare care centre, in Jalan Tambalang, Tuaran.

The index case was a 20-year-old student who was doing her practical training at the centre and she was staying at the workers’ quarters.

She was found positive through a symptomatic screening on March 5. Close contact screenings found 59 others infected.

Further investigations are still being conducted and the positive cases had been isolated and treated.

Meanwhile, the Jalan Getah Cluster in Kunak ended today.

Some 831 or 98.35 per cent of the 845 new patients today are in Category 1 and 2, while five in Category 3, eight in Category 4 and one in Category 5.
