
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Prisons Department team finished third overall in the One Malaysia Prisons Team Tenpin Bowling Tournament held at Megalanes Sarawak in Kuching from March 11-13.
They managed to win the runners-up title in the Master Individual category and a third place finish in the Men’s Trio category.
Team manager Chief Prisons Inspector Jailan Oyong said it was a much improved performance from the team as they only ranked 12th in the previous meet.
He expressed his thanks to Sabah State Prisons Director Deputy Prison Commissioner Nora Musa and all the heads of Sabah Prisons institutions for their support.
The team coached by Zaidee Paiman was represented by Bulhan Mohd Yunus, Juanh Samunting, Zulkefeli Renggo, Charles Jurius, Azizah Pinandu, Rashid Jamalun, Roslan Jusoh, Chelsia Sigar, Norinna Bahtarin, Fadzil Awang, Caroline Martin and Siti Rofaidah Muhd Razali.
Meanwhile, Senior Assistant Commissioner Teyun Thian Eim representing the State Prisons Department received the trophy from Deputy Prisons Commissioner Abd Kadir Rais at the closing ceremony.
