KOTA KINABALU: The State continues to witness a downtrend in daily new Covid-19 cases with 1,515 caseloads, on Sunday – 263 lesser than Saturday’s.

“Kota Kinabalu is still the main contributor of new cases in the State with 479, followed by Tuaran (133) and Penampang (103),” according to the State’s daily update.

However, the declining number of new cases should not be a reason for the society to be complacent towards complying with all the SOPs.

“The downward trend could quickly turn the other way around, not to mention taking into account the percentage of sporadic infections remains high, which is 62.71 per cent of all cases today (Sunday).

“The downward trend can only be retained if all of us consistently adhere to all the SOPs and the Health Ministry’s recommendations.”

Some 1,498 or 98.88 per cent of Sunday’s new cases are in Category 1 and 2, while five in Category 3, seven in Category 4 and five in Category 5.
