Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Government has donated 30 boats that cost RM360,000 to state police for use in 10 districts prone to flooding.

The handing over of six boats in the first phase was done at the Menara Kinabalu compound, here, Wednesday by Chief Minister Datuk Hajiji Noor to the Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Idris Abdullah.

In the same ceremony, the burden of six family members of policemen who fell in the 2013 Tanduo incursion by Sulu militants was eased after they received the first ever donation by Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd in conjunction with the upcoming 215th Police Day.

Hajiji also handed over the state flag to Sabahan Adelinah Lintanga who will embark on an expedition to climb Mount Everest in May.
