Kota Kinabalu: Filipinos who failed to renew their travel documents due to the SOP restrictions, fear of arrest and detention by local authorities should they prolong their stay in Sabah with expired travel documents.

They said if direct flights (KK-Manila) and ferry services (Sandakan-Zamboanga City) continue to be suspended, the possibility of them landing inside the crowded immigration temporary holding depots is a reality. Presently, the only available return to their country is via the KK-KL-MNL air connectivity route.
