Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s cases rose back to three digits with 150 cases reported on Tuesday after an all-time low of 65 the day earlier, said Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
He said several districts recorded a significant increase in cases, namely Beaufort (+25), Sandakan (+14), Kota Kinabalu (+12) and Penampang (+9).
“A total of 17 districts recorded an increase in cases compared to eight that recorded a decrease. Only four districts did not record any new cases, compared to 10 the day earlier,” said Masidi in a statement, Tuesday.
He said Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 28 cases, followed by Beaufort (25), Sandakan (18), Penampang (15), Telupid (7), Papar (7) and Tawau (6).
He added that 62.67 per cent of cases were sporadic infections, while 20.67 per cent were close contacts.
One death was recorded in Kunak, while no new clusters were identified.
Masidi said the majority of cases were mild, with 145 out of 150 cases being category one and two infections, while one case is in category three and two each in category four and five.
On Sabah’s immunisation programme, a total of 3,627 individuals took their vaccines on April 11, while 1,430 were adults, 156 teenagers and 2,041 children.
