Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s cases dipped further to 106 on Saturday from 172 the day earlier, which is among the lowest figures recorded in the last few months since the Omicron wave hit in February, said Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
“Sabah’s overall Covid-19 situation is improving. On Saturday, only three districts recorded double-digit cases, namely Kota Kinabalu (24), Penampang (19) and Papar (10),” he said in a statement, Saturday.
He added that a total of 17 districts recorded single-digit cases, of which seven only recorded one new case.
“Seven other districts did not record any new cases in the last 24 hours,” he said, adding no deaths or new clusters were identified on Saturday.
Masidi said the majority of cases are mild, with 105 out of 106 being category one and two infections, which is 99 per cent.
“There are no category three and four infections, while there is only one patient in category five,” he added.
On Sabah’s immunisation programme, a total of 2,407 individuals took their vaccines on April 8, of which 1,331 were children, 971 adults and 105 teenagers.
