Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Islamic Religious Council (Muis) provided more than RM10 million Ramadan and Aidilfitri assistance for the asnaf (underprivileged people) throughout the State.

A total of 20 asnafs from Penampang and Kota Kinabalu received donations from Special Tasks Minister Datuk Arifin Mohd Arif at the Sabah State-Level Nuzul Quran Ceremony 1443H/2022M at the State Mosque on Monday.

Arifin said the donation was part of the contribution for the asnaf, the poor and converts in conjunction with the month of Ramadan.

Also present were State Minister of Community Development and People’s Wellbeing Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, Sabah Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Isnin Aliasnih, Sindumin Assemblyman Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob, Pintasan Assemblyman Fairuz Renddan, Sabah Mufti Datuk Bungsu Aziz Jaafar, Sabah Islamic Religious Affairs Department (Jheains) Director Datuk Saifulzaman Sanggul, Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) Sabah Branch Director Norjeli Dais, Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) Sabah Branch Director Norjeli Dais and Chief Executive Officer of Muis Ramlan Awang Ali.
