Former Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos has defended Mikel Arteta.

Arteta came under fire from celebrity supporter Piers Morgan after Monday's loss to Crystal Palace.

The famed television presenter and columnist wrote on Twitter: "This is actually a moment when Arsenal fans need to accept Arteta made a massive season-wrecking mistake in giving away Aubameyang & relying on Lacazette to lead the line. I said it would come back to haunt us - and it is."

In response to Morgan, Ceballos replied: "Friend let him (Arteta) work, is very top. He will also take Arsenal to where it deserves to be. Patience," followed by a love-heart emoji.

Ceballos spent two years on loan at Arsenal before returning to Real Madrid last summer.
