Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun reminded the public to be continuously vigilant despite the downward trend of cases as sporadic infections still remain high at 68 per cent of the caseload.
“The daily caseload as of late indicates that Sabah is in the stabilisation phase, with cases hovering around the 200 mark.
“However, the rakyat (people) must not be complacent due to the high percentage of symptomatic cases,” he said in a statement, Friday.
The State recorded 172 cases on Friday, a marginal decrease from 176 the day earlier. No deaths or new clusters were identified.
Masidi said Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 57 cases, followed by Penampang (12), Sandakan (12), Papar (10), Beaufort (9) and Tuaran (8).
“Overall, four districts recorded double-digit cases, while 21 other districts recorded single-digit cases, with 17 recording between one to five cases only.
“Nabawan and Tongod did not record any new cases,” he added.
He said the majority of cases were mild with 164 out of 172 cases being category one and two infections, while five were in category three, two in category four and one in category five.
On Sabah’s immunisation programme, Masidi said 2,178 individuals took their vaccines on April 6, of which 1,158 were adults, 173 were teenagers and 847 were children.
