
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded 188 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, down by 10 compared to Tuesday’s 198 cases.
“The number of cases today is not much different from yesterday’s figure,” said Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, in a statement, Wednesday.
He said 12 districts recorded an increase in cases and another 12 districts a decrease.
“Three more districts remain as recorded on Tuesday. The change in figures in most districts is small except Beaufort and Kota Kinabalu which recorded a drop by 12 cases each,” he said. The percentage of sporadic infections continues to rise and on Wednesday it was almost 62 per cent from 58 per cent on Tuesday.
More than half (14) of the 27 districts in Sabah recorded sporadic infections as the main contributor to new infections in those districts. Among them are Kota Kinabalu (83 per cent), Penampang (78 per cent) and Beaufort (80 per cent).
Seven districts recorded double-digit cases and 17 districts single-digit cases, while the other three districts, namely Nabawan, Tongod and Kalabakan, did not record any new cases on Wednesday.
A total of 183 or 97.34 per cent of 188 cases on Wednesday are in Category 1 and 2, two cases in Category 3, two cases in Category 4 and one case in Category 5.
