According to Pipe Sierra, a Colombian journalist, former Everton attacking midfielder Rodriguez wants to leave the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium club as soon as possible.
His agent Jorge Mendes has been instructed to find him a new team.
Rodriguez earns £10.1 million in Qatar, per Semana in South America.
It is unclear if any top side in Europe would be interested in his signature, given his inconsistency in the Premier League at Everton.
