Crystal Palace boss Patrick Vieira was not impressed with his side as they fell to defeat against Newcastle United.
An even contest between the two sides was decided by a moment of brilliance from Miguel Almiron.
The attacker's solo effort was enough to win the game for the Magpies, and Vieira was not happy with his side's application.
He said post-game to BBC MOTD: "All credit to Newcastle. I think they defended really well and made it difficult for us.
"Playing on Monday [at home to Leeds] will help us freshen up a bit in our minds. The semi-final loss [against Chelsea last Sunday] was still fresh in our mind, which is why it took us a while to get into the game.
"We have to go back to basics and work hard to get what we want."
