Kota Kinabalu: Sabah's new Covid-19 cases increased further to 57 today after Hari Raya celebrations as forecast by health authorities, said the spokesman for the crisis, Datuk Masidi Manjun.

The number was 18 cases more than yesterday as authorities also predicted daily caseloads will increase during the upcoming Kaamatan season.

Overall, there were more districts which recorded increased new cases than those that saw decreases.

Kota Kinabalu was the only district with double-digit new cases, said Masidi.

Sporadic infections remained high at 63 percent and health authorities urged the public to keep complying with Covid-19 protocols during the festive season.
