Departing Sevilla defender Diego Carlos has been in England to complete his move to Aston Villa.
The club announced on Thursday that an agreement had been reached with Spanish side Sevilla over the transfer of the 29-year-old. It is reported that Villa will pay a fee of around £26 million.
Following the agreement, the player was due to fly to England in order to put the finishing touches to his move. Carlos was set to undergo a medical as well as putting pen-to-paper on his contract at Villa Park.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has given the latest update on the move, writing on Twitter: “Diego Carlos has already completed his medical tests as new Aston Villa player, after club statement. He's in England to sign the contract.
“Deal signed on Thursday between the two clubs after €31m guaranteed fee."
